Undi with Piyava Gojju (Steamed Rice Dumpling with Onion & Spicy- Tangy Onion Dip/ Tamarind Pickle)
Piyava Gojju is a traditional recipe which is very simple and easy to prepare. It is spicy and tangy with 3-4 ingredients. Try this dish and enjoy it with Undi (Steamed Rice Dumplings)

How to Prepare: Soak 2 cups of raw rice in water for 2 to 3 hours. Wash this rice & grind with coconut gratings (1cup) coarsely. Add salt. Add enough water so that the consistency is of Dosa batter. In a pan add oil, mustard seeds, Urad dal, fenugreek seeds. Drop the ground paste in it and turn over, till it becomes fairly stiff (Not too dry). Remove from flame. Shape in balls form, make a small depression in each balls. Steam these balls in a Pedavan (steamer) under cover for 15 minutes & Serve Undi with Piyava gojju
Piyava Gojju: Chop onions finely. Grind red chillies with tamarind water. Add this to chopped onions. Add desired quantity of water and salt. Add little coconut oil (Optional). Enjoy it with Undi or Nuchi.
