Breadfruit Fritters (Jeev Kadgi Phodi) ~ A Delicacy in Konkani households

Recipe: Wash, peel and remove the skin and core of the Breadfruit. Chop the Breadfruit into slight thick pieces and keep it aside. In a bowl add Besan flour, Kashmiri chilli powder, Cumin Seeds, Asafoetida Powder and Salt. Add sufficient water to make thick batter and mix well to get a uniform batter without lumps and keep it aside. Heat Oil in a Pan, dip the chopped beadfruit pieces one by one into the prepared batter and slowly drop the coated Breadfruit pieces into the hot oil. Deep fry till golden colour.
