Semiya Payasu/ Semiya Kheer/ Sevai Paysu

Semiya Kheer is prepared with Semiya/ Vermicelli and is very easy to prepare. This dessert is  prepared with roasted vermicelli, milk, elaichi (Cardamom) and nuts. 

Semiya PayasuRecipe:

Ingredients: 

  • Milk                                     - 3 Cups
  • Vermicelli/Semiya            - 1 Cup
  • Sugar                                  -  100 gm to 150 gm, Add as required to Taste
  • Cashew nuts                     - 25 gm
  • Cardamom ( powder it)   -  little
  • Raisins                               - 25 gm
  • Ghee                                   - 2 tablespoon

In a frying pan, heat 2 tablespoon Ghee and then add 1 cup vermicelli (broken) & roast it on medium flame till it become slight golden brown. Set it aside. Now add few cashew nuts & raisins, fry & keep it aside. In the same pan pour 3 cups milk & boil. Add roasted vermicelli & cook it till it become soft (keep stirring to prevent Kheer/ Payasam from burning). Add sugar & cardamom powder. Cook it for 3 to 5 minutes on low flame. Garnish with roasted cashew nuts & raisins.
